I have a love/hate relationship with Bradford pear trees. Yes, in the spring, they are so pretty. They are densely covered in little white flowers. However, they are really brittle. A huge limb fell off one of ours into our driveway. Then, a limb fell from the Bradford pear in our backyard. After a thunderstorm, another chunk of the tree fell off and now all we have is a sliver of Bradford pear.

Regardless, they still are beautiful. I took these photos of a row of Bradford pear trees next to an Office Depot by my house in Charlotte, NC. Yep. By the mall.

Finally, right?! We’ve had some really pretty days and nice warm weather here in Charlotte. Enough to make the daffodils start blooming as well as the flowering fruit trees. Yesterday, I walked down the block to photograph a plum tree in my neighbor’s front yard. I hope they didn’t mind me taking pictures…

I’m not sure what type of plum tree it is. Last summer it had really small extremely tart plums on it. The cherry trees will be next.
